The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science teacher for grades 9-12 who engages and inspires learners through their own passion and professional practice. An ideal candidate will have significant IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry experience. They will be flexible and excited to cooperate with a team of dynamic, professional Science teachers to plan, deliver, and assess concept based and student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. A Science teacher at ZIS will hold high expectations for students and will be comfortable differentiating content and instruction in all courses.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least 3 years experience in teaching Chemistry, preferably at an international school. For non-Swiss/EU applicants, international experience is required.
- Teaching license including specialism
- Documented record of excellence in teaching
- Experience with IB Chemistry HL/SL and/or AP Chemistry
- BA / BSc or equivalent university degree
- Integration of technology into curriculum
- Learner-centered focus
- Understanding of concept based curriculum and instruction
- Understanding of the importance of scientific inquiry and lab work to support student learning and develop curiosity
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs
