The Position:
We are seeking an English teacher to work across grades 6 - 12, with IBDP and/or AP experience. An ideal candidate will be flexible and excited to cooperate with a team of dynamic, professional English teachers to plan, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. An English teacher at ZIS will hold high expectations for students and will be comfortable differentiating content and instruction in all courses. Interest/experience in project based learning together with evidence of portfolio-based assessment strategies will be an advantage.
Teacher applicants should have at least 2-3 years of previous experience teaching English, preferably at an international school. Applicants must furnish evidence of:
- Teaching certification, including specialism
- Documented record of excellence in teaching
- BA or equivalent university degree
- Learner-centered focus
- Understanding of concept based curriculum and instruction
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs
- Emphasis on relationship building with students and colleagues
- Teamwork, collaboration, and active participation in school life
